The City of Minnetonka contracts Republic Services to provide recycling services to residents. Visit Republic Services or call 952-941-5174 to learn more.
Collection schedule
Recycling is collected every two weeks. Your collection day is based on your location – if you live west of I-494, collection is on Mondays; for those east of I-494, collection is on Tuesdays.
Put recycling out by 6:30 a.m. on collection day. Place your recycling cart and garbage cart on opposite sides of your driveway – at least three feet apart from each other and other objects.
Holidays
Three holidays will delay recycling collection, and only for residents whose service dates fall in the week with that holiday.
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Cart storage
All garbage and recycling containers must be stored out of public view except on the evening before and day of collection. If not stored inside a garage, residents must install screening to hide the entire garbage container from view.
Each recycling cart contains a list of acceptable and unacceptable items printed on the lid for easy reference. This list is also available below and in our recycling guide.
All acceptable items must be placed inside the cart.

Keep it clean
Non-recyclable and contaminated items cost much more to process than if they were initially put in the trash, and they can damage equipment and harm workers.
To keep recycling affordable, it is important to:
Empty and rinse out all bottles, jugs and containers.
Put all dirty and non-recyclable items in the trash.
