There’s Yeti ‘round these parts … and we need your help tracking ‘em down!
The Second Annual Great Minnetonka Yeti Hunt is on! (And, of course, there are prizes!)
Here’s how it works:
Over the course of four weeks –starting Dec. 24 – a stuffed Yeti will be placed in specific Minnetonka parks:
Each week, it’s a different park AND a different riddle that the Yeti will help you solve.
- Each Yeti is decorated with a letter of the alphabet. The total number of Yeti in each park corresponds to the number of letters on the riddle answer sheet each week.
- Find each Yeti, record and unscramble the letters to solve the riddle.
- Email your weekly answers to Recreation Superintendent Ann Davy by 5 p.m. each Thursday for a chance to win a $25 gift card.
Riddles
Week 1
Massive in size, both in height and weight,
It’d be rare to see me in our great state.
I have just four toes, one less than human feet,
My name is synonymous to a place for coffee and a quick bite to eat.
Week 2
I sure can be pretty, but am sometimes considered a pest,
Choosing not to eat me would likely be best.
A symbolic herb declared a symbol of love,
At holiday parties you may find me hanging from above.
Week 3
I bring relief during the cold winter weather,
And look quite dapper accompanied with a sweater.
Falling a bit below the knees,
Probably not the best attire for climbing trees.
Week 4
Fill me with fuel from the great outdoors,
I provide amazing space for prepping s’mores.
Perfect in winter to snuggle up to,
But watch out for Saint Nick and his reindeer too.
At the end of the entire month, unscramble the blue-boxed letters on your answer sheet to uncover the Yeti’s grand secret message.
Submit THAT answer by Jan. 20 for a chance to win a $50 gift card!
And please play fair and don’t remove the Yeti. Thank you and good luck out there!
