Paula Ramaley was elected to the Minnetonka City Council in 2023.
Paula has deep roots in the community; her family has lived in the Minnetonka/Wayzata area for five generations.
She earned her undergraduate degree in Russian Area studies and history at St. Catherine University and her master’s degree in Russian history at Georgetown University. In her professional life, Paula has more than 20 years of experience working in the fields of international education and culture and has also owned two small businesses.
Paula volunteers with various non-profit organizations, including ICA, where she translates for Russian-speaking clients. She is a board member of East-West Connections, which supports international citizen-to-citizen education and diplomacy. Paula is a co-founder of the SEED-MN giving circle (State Elections Empower Democracy in MN), which raises funds and volunteers for state legislative campaigns. She is also an active member of Braver Angels, a volunteer organization that works to bridge partisan political divides and strengthen communities.
Paula and her husband, Reed Holiman, have two grown children – Elizabeth and Alek – both graduates of Minnetonka High School. In her free time, Paula enjoys sailing, reading and sustainable gardening.
