About the Department

The Minnetonka Fire Department is a combination fire department with full-time chiefs and administrative staff as well as full-time, career officers and firefighter technicians. We also maintain a staffing of paid-on-call firefighters that ranges from 50 to 70 members.

All our firefighters maintain firefighting, hazardous materials operation and medical certifications to respond to all manner of emergencies.

With our full-time and paid-on-call firefighters, our duty crew is staffed 24/7 at Station 1 and Station 3. When we are able, we also currently staff Station 2 during daytime hours. At this time, Stations 4 and 5 are not staffed during the day. All stations are also used for training and paid-on-call response when staff is paged out to respond to a structure fire or other major emergency.
