Home MenuPrivate Fire Hydrants
The City of Minnetonka has a mix of public and private fire hydrants that must be maintained to ensure they are operational during a fire emergency.
Owners of private fire hydrants are required to inspect, maintain and repair hydrants on an annual basis.
- As the owner of a private hydrant, you must hire a certified contractor to complete the required inspections. The contractor must fill out a Private Hydrant Inspection Form for each private hydrant.
- Inspections must be completed annually between May 15-July 15.
- Not sure which hydrants are private? View an interactive map of all Minnetonka fire hydrants, sorted by public or private; enter your address in the top left search bar.
- Fire Marshal Luke Berscheit is also available to answer any questions you may have regarding this mandatory inspection (952-939-8332).
