The city plans to improve Carlson Parkway from Oakland Road to Twelve Oaks Center Drive (map) in 2019. Construction is expected to last until late fall.

This project includes a mill and overlay of the pavement, with complete pavement replacement in select areas as a cost-effective way to improve and extend the life of the road.

The city will also partner with MnDOT to improve the intersections at Carlson Parkway and Twelve Oaks Center Drive and Carlson Parkway and both sides of Trunk Highway 12. These improvements include new stoplight systems with the installation of flashing yellow arrows, crosswalk safety improvements and replacement of damaged sidewalks.

Construction updates

April 6, 2020

• The Carlson Parkway Improvements Project was substantially completed in 2019. Final construction items will begin Tuesday, April 7, 2020 and we expect to finish by April 30, 2020.
• Watch for lane shifts and construction workers throughout the project area (view map). Please follow all signs and drive carefully.
• This is our final planned update for the remainder of the project.
