Hennepin County Home School Site Update

Hennepin County recently notified the City of Minnetonka of potential changes to the home school site, a Hennepin County property, located north of County Road 62 and east of the Glen Lake Golf Course.

Hennepin County previously discussed the possibility of a joint home school with Ramsey County, but that joint project will not be moving forward.

Hennepin County passed along the following information to the city:

  • The home school facilities need updating; Hennepin County is assessing the upgrades that are needed to continue programming at current levels.
  • The We Can Ride program will no longer be offered at this location; the associated facilities will be removed and the wetlands restored.
  • Hennepin County is considering construction of a new Medical Examiner building that would serve Hennepin, Dakota and Scott Counties. Hennepin County is seeking state bond funds for a portion of the project.

More Information

The City of Minnetonka has not received formal plans or further details for these facility changes. The city will communicate further details when the information becomes available. Stay tuned for further updates.
