Williston Water Tower Reconditioning

The City of Minnetonka’s water tower located at 4525 Williston Road – just south of Highway 7 – is being reconditioned to protect water quality and the city’s investment in the tank, and to improve the look of the tower.

The project began in August 2019 and – due to weather – will be completed in Summer 2020.

Timeline and schedule

Painting process

Crews will sandblast and touch up the interior of the tower, and will pressure wash and re-paint the outside, including the new city logo. General construction noise is expected. Crews will use air-dry paint, so any paint that falls while the exterior is painted will immediately dry and won’t coat anything below.

The project has been approved by the Minnesota Department of Health. There are no hazardous materials or lead paint involved.

All equipment and vehicles will keep to city property around the tower, in the tower driveway and in the field to the south of the tower. The project will not impact traffic.
