The City Hall Pond Maintenance Project proposes the removal of excess sediment from two sedimentation pond basins and the replacement of failing culverts located on the south side of City Hall. There will be minimal impact to vehicles traveling on Minnetonka Boulevard and Williston Road, as Minnetonka Boulevard may be reduced to one lane at times, but access will be maintained throughout construction.

Project schedule

  • City Council to consider award of the construction contract at the Jan 8, 2024, City Council Meeting.
  • Construction is anticipated in January and February. 

Project updates

Feb. 16, 2024

  • All pipe work and the removal of the excess sediment from the two sedimentation pond basins is complete.
  • The contractor is working on cleaning up the site and hauling away excess materials. 
  • Final restoration of seed and blankets is planned for next week.

Feb. 9, 2024

  • The contractor has completed culvert replacements and is currently working on cleaning up the site and hauling away excess materials. 
  • Once clean-up and final grading occurs, seed and blanket will be placed for restoration.

Jan. 19, 2024

  • Construction is scheduled to begin the week of Jan. 22, 2024, for the City Hall Pond Maintenance Project. See Project Location Map.
  • The contractor will remove excess sediment from the two sedimentation basins, and then will replace the old failing culverts.
  • Please be aware and expect to see heavy equipment activity onsite with trucking along Minnetonka Boulevard.
    • Minnetonka Boulevard and Williston Road will be open to traffic and access at all times, but there will be a temporary lane closure on Minnetonka Boulevard during this project.
  • Construction is expected to occur over the next several weeks. 

Jan. 5, 2024

  • The City Hall Pond Maintenance project is on the City Council’s Jan. 8 agenda.
    • Council will consider award of the construction contract. If approved, the project is expected to be completed in January and February.
