You may see non-city crews working in the right-of-way along your street or in utility easements in your yard. It is likely one of many private utility companies. At any time during the year, these companies may be working to install, upgrade, repair or maintain their facilities.

While this work is not being performed by or for the City of Minnetonka, the utility providers do have permits from the city to perform this work.

Before beginning projects, private utility companies or their contracted companies are expected to:

• Provide residents and businesses with information about the work that is being completed
• Give customer service contact information

If you have questions or concerns about utility work in your neighborhood, contact the utility company or their contractor. If you cannot identify the company working in a particular location, contact the city's Engineering Division at 952-939-8246 for assistance.
