Advance warning of a fire from working smoke alarms greatly improves your chance of escaping when time really matters. Today’s fire can become deadly in a little as 2-3 minutes, you must have a plan.

  • Fire can spread very quickly through a building, keeping doors closed while sleeping will slow the spread of fire, heat and smoke.
  • Smoke alarms should be installed on every level and in every room where someone sleeps.
  • Every room where someone sleeps should have two ways out.
  • Make a plan with all who live in your home, practice this plan monthly and include a meeting place outside of the home. Young children can easily forget what to do so be sure to review these safety messages with them often.
