State law and Minnetonka City Charter require candidates to file several reports. The following information outlines which reports to file and when. We also encourage you to visit the City’s Code of Ordinance to read the entire text of Chapter 1: Section 110 regarding campaign finance disclosures. Write-in candidates

On general election ballots, voters always have the option of writing in a name instead of voting for one of the candidates listed on the ballot. However, write-in candidates for city offices must file the following form in order for the votes they receive to be counted.

Current and historical financial reports

In Minnesota, cities are required to post campaign finance reports online for all city council candidates. When the city receives a report, it must be posted within 30 days and remain online for four years.
