The City of Minnetonka’s Ridgehaven Lane/Ridgedale Drive Improvements Project includes improvements to the street (new pavement, added turn lanes), sidewalks, lighting and landscaping. The project’s goal is to reduce congestion in the Ridgedale area. Construction will begin in early April 2018.

Ridgehaven Lane / Ridgedale Drive Reconstruction Layout

Ridgedale Drive will remain open in both directions (north and south) throughout construction. However, drivers should follow posted routes, drive carefully and anticipate delays. Plymouth Road will also remain open, but will use lane shifts during portions of the project.

Ridgehaven Lane will be closed throughout the project. Cartway Lane will remain open to connect Ridgedale Drive and Plymouth Road.

Road closures and lane shifts will be kept to a minimum. However, drives can expect inconveniences on Ridgedale Drive, Plymouth Road and the surrounding area. Please be alert, drive carefully through construction areas and plan accordingly for delays.

Tentative project schedule

Early April 2018 – Construction begins
Late Fall 2018 – Road and utility improvements complete
Spring 2019 – Landscaping, street lights and final paving

Project history and funding

The plan, which includes feedback from area businesses, attendees of three separate community meetings and the city council, was presented at the Monday, April 11, 2016 city council meeting. View the April 11 council report, which details the project.

The City of Minnetonka received a Regional Solicitation grant for approximately $4.5 million from the Metropolitan Council for the I-394/Plymouth Road Ramp Intersection (Ridgehaven Lane) project. This grant funding will be officially approved in late 2017, and the project is now scheduled to begin in the spring of 2018.
